Der Künstler wurde 1941 in Ponteareas, Prov. Pontevedra geboren, lebt und arbeitet in Vigo.
Seine Skulpturen befinden sich in wichtigen Sammlungen in Spanien, Frankreich und Irland. Realisierung zahlreicher Werke im öffentlichen Raum, zum Beispiel das spektakuläre Monumentalwerk "Porta do Atlantico" für die Plaza de América in Vigo.
Silverio Rivas ist ein vielseitiger Bildhauer, der die verschiedensten Techniken meisterlich beherrscht. In seiner ersten Ausstellung in Freiburg zeigten wir Bronzeplastiken, 4 Jahre später präsentierten wir Arbeiten aus Granit und werden nunmehr seine Skulpturen aus Holz vorstellen.
